Written By: Johnny Davis

Hello and welcome everyone to this week’s installment of “IDP Game Notes” brought to you by IDP Guru staff writer, Johnny Davis. This column is quickly turning into one of the most comprehensive, all-encompassing IDP articles anywhere. And it’s free!

Jaguars @ Falcons

– Atlanta DE John Abraham (4 solo tackles-1 assist, 2 forced fumbles, 3.5 sacks) rewarded any owner who stuck with him and/or didn’t have a better option. MLB Curtis Lofton (6-2, fumble recovery) did plenty of tackling. WLB Sean Weatherspoon (2-0, fumble recovery) let his owners down. SS William Moore (7-0) showed value.
– Jacksonville MLB Paul Posluszny (3-5) has had better games. SLB Daryl Smith (0-5) has cooled off. WLB Russell Allen (4-5) is trying to make a name for himself. DE Jeremy Mincey (7-0, 1 sack) and SS Dawan Landry (6-2) had good games.
Cowboys @ Bucs
– Dallas ILB Sean Lee (2-0) soiled himself at a crucial fantasy time. OLB Demarcus Ware (3-0, 1 sack) injured his neck. CB Orlando Scandrick (5-1, 1 sack) has shown value.
– Tampa Bay rookie MLB Mason Foster (5-3) had one of his better tackling games. Rookie DE Adrian Clayborn (2-2, FF, 1 sack) has been on a sack attack. CB Ronde Barber (6-1) has been surprisingly valuable. DT Albert Haynesworth (5-0, PD) has had a good game here or there.
Dolphins @ Bills
– Miami ILB Karlos Dansby (4-1) has been pretty inconsistent. OLB Cameron Wake (6-1, 1 sack, PD) rewarded owners. Something is wrong with SS Yeremiah Bell (3-2, PD). ILB Kevin Burnett (3-2) has cooled off.
– Buffalo SS George Wilson (4-3, fumble recovery) hasn’t been quite as dominant since returning from injury. Rookie DT Marcell Dareus (3-0, 1 sack) hurt his hand. ILB Nick Barnett (3-5) has had better games.
Titans @ Colts
– I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I always put the winning team at the top of the capsule. Well, it seems like a mistake to be putting the Colts at the top, but it’s not. Alas, Indy MLB Pat Angerer (7-5, FF, int, 2 PD) was a fantasy playoffs MVP. Ernie Sims (8-7) filled in nicely for injured SLB Philip Wheeler.
– Tennessee rookie MLB Colin McCarthy (2-4) had his worst game since taking over as the starter. SS Jordan Babineaux (4-1) has cooled significantly.
Packers @ Chiefs
– Kansas City ILB Derrick Johnson (7-0, FF, PD) remains red hot. OLB Tamba Hali (4-0, FF, 3 sacks) has been racking up the sacks. Rookie OLB Justin Houston (3-1) didn’t do much.
– What the heck are the Packers doing at the bottom of this capsule? That’s the place for losers! They might’ve lost, but some of their IDPs scored well: CB Charles Woodson (10-1, PD), rookie ILB D.J. Smith (6-3), OLB Clay Matthews (5-1), and ILB A.J. Hawk (6-2).
Redskins @ Giants
– Washington ILB London Fletcher (10-2, FF, PD) keeps on delivering. Rookie OLB Ryan Kerrigan (2-1, 1 sack) found his way back to the QB. ILB Perry Riley (3-5) is still around.
– New York DE Jason Pierre-Paul (11-5, 1 sack) had an unbelievable game. DE Justin Tuck (4-3) had his best tackling game of the season. WLB Michael Boley (10-2) and MLB Chase Blackburn (7-0) had good games.
Seahawks @ Bears
– It was a good day to have a Seattle IDP: DE Chris Clemons (2-1, 2 sacks, PD), rookie SLB K.J. Wright (8-0), MLB David Hawthorne (6-1), FS Earl Thomas (2-2, fumble recovery, int, PD), SS Kam Chancellor (5-1, FF, PD), and CB Brandon Browner (1-0, pick 6, fourth straight game with an int).
– Chicago MLB Brian Urlacher (6-0) had a nice tackle number but nothing else. CB Charles Tillman (1-1) filled his diaper. DE Julius Peppers (1-2, FF, 1 sack) had a good game. Ignore the fact that DE Israel Idonije (4-1, fumble recovery in end zone) got a fluke TD and he has still been making noise lately.
Saints @ Vikings
– New Orleans SS Roman Harper (3-1, 1 sack) got a sack, but the rest of the Saints’ IDPs were unremarkable.
– Not even Minnesota beast-man DE Jared Allen (1-1) could get to Drew Brees. SLB Chad Greenway (4-6) and MLB E.J. Henderson (9-2) had good tackle numbers.
Bengals @ Rams
– Cincy WLB Thomas Howard (8-2) has risen from the dead. DT Geno Atkins (4-0, FF, 1 sack) continues to score well.
– St. Louis MLB James Laurinaitis (5-1) picked a bad time to have a down game by his standards. DE Chris Long (2-0, 1 sack) got his 13th sack of the season. FS Quintin Mikell (8-2, FF, PD) had a huge game out of nowhere.
Panthers @ Texans
– Carolina WLB Jordan Senn (12-2, FF, int, PD) has been making noise, but I don’t think anyone saw this whopper of a game coming. SLB James Anderson (5-1, fumble recovery, int, PD) has gotten back on track. SS Charles Godfrey (1-1) and DE Charles Johnson (1-0) left with injuries.
– Houston ILB Brian Cushing (9-3) had the kind of game his owners wish he could have more often. ILB Demeco Ryans (6-2, PD) appears to be coming alive. Rookie DE J.J. Watt (5-2) did some tackling. OLB Connor Barwin (2-1, 1 sack) has 8.5 sacks in the last six games. OLB Brooks Reed (1-1) has cooled off.
Lions @ Raiders
– Detroit MLB Stephen Tulloch (8-2) and WLB Deandre Levy (7-2) had good tackling games. DE Cliff Avril (3-1, 2 sacks) had his second straight multi-sack game. DT Ndamukong Suh (1-1, blocked field goal) returned from suspension but is still not fantasy relevant.
– Oakland MLB Rolando McClain (7-2, 1 sack) has been on a tear the last few games. SS Tyvon Branch (4-1) has not been his usual dominant self.
Patriots @ Broncos
– New England WLB Jerod Mayo (7-1) signed a big contract despite struggling with injuries this year. DE Andre Carter (0-0) suffered a season-ending quad injury, which means more playing time for DE Mark Anderson (3-0, fumble recovery, FF, 2 sacks). SLB Rob Ninkovich (3-1, fumble recovery, 1 sack) has four sacks in the last five games.
– Denver WLB D.J. Williams (4-2) has had better games. DT Marcus Thomas (6-3) had his second straight good game. Rookie SLB Von Miller (1-0) disappeared. CB Chris Harris (9-0) is capable of a big tackle number. DE Elvis Dumervil (1-1, 1 sack) has 8.5 sacks in the last seven games. Rookie safeties Rahim Moore (6-1, PD) and Quinton Carter (5-2, 1 sack) had nice stats while SS Brian Dawkins sat out with injury.
Jets @ Eagles
– Philly DE Jason Babin (4-0, 3 sacks) has been absolutely on fire. DE Trent Cole (4-0) fell back down to Earth after a monster week 14. SS Kurt Coleman (3-0, FF, PD) has cooled off a bit.
– New York ILB David Harris (6-1, int, PD) has been scoring well. OLB Calvin Pace (6-0) has been making a little noise.
Browns @ Cardinals
– Arizona’s usual suspects were nothing to write home about: ILB Daryl Washington (3-3), rookie CB Patrick Peterson (2-0), and DE Calais Campbell (1-3, fumble recovery).
– Cleveland MLB D’Qwell Jackson (12-1) had a gigantic tackle number. Rookie DE Jabaal Sheard (3-0, 2 sacks) has five sacks in the last five games. SLB Chris Gocong (7-2, 2 sacks) had his second straight good game.
Ravens @ Chargers
– San Diego’s Antwan Barnes (5-1, 4 sacks) shined with OLB Travis Laboy injured. ILB Shaun Phillips (4-2, int, PD, .5 sack) had his best game since returning from injury.
– Baltimore ILB Ray Lewis (9-1) had a triumphant return from injury. DE/OLB Terrell Suggs (2-0) hung his owners out to dry after three straight monster games. DT Haloti Ngata (5-3) got back on track.
Steelers @ 49ers
– Rookie OLB Aldon Smith (3-1, 2.5 sacks) has been an unstoppable force. ILB Larry Grant (4-1, 4 PD) had his lowest tackle number in his time as Patrick Willis’ replacement. ILB Navorro Bowman (7-1) got back on track. FS Dashon Goldson (6-1, int, PD) has six picks on the season.
– Pittsburgh OLB Jason Worilds (5-1) continues to show potential. ILB Lawrence Timmons (6-0) continues to tackle well. SS Troy Polamalu (7-0) had one of his better tackling games.
